Thom and I went to Albuquerque in 1994 to crew for Marv McKinley. As it turned out, Marv had to much crew, so we were introduced to Gery deKoevend and spent the week crewing for him. Thom and I took our first flights with Gery that week. What an exciting time! We crewed for Gery for several years and decided we wanted our own balloon. So, Thom took lessons, became a pilot, and JD’s Dream took flight. We have been active in the Colorado Balloon Club for several years. I took over the club store and love to shop for all the goodies! Barb Hann asked me to join the safety seminar committee three years ago – and as we all know – it’s hard to turn her down! So now I work in concert with a great team of balloonists to help promote safety in our sport. I look forward to many more years of ballooning.
