Remember, when chasing a balloon wear your seat belt. It makes it
harder for the aliens
to snatch you from your vehicle!

Next Safety Seminar March 13, 2010
The LTA Colorado Safety Seminar Committee would like to invite you to register early for next year's spring seminar. The 2010 seminar will again be held at the University of Denver on Saturday, March 13th, 2010. Our theme this year
is titled, "20/10: A Sharper Focus on Safety."
The following speakers have been invited to speak:
- Mike Cetinich, Product Manager Flight Planning, Weather and NOTAM Services for Jeppesen
- Dr. Tom McConnell, M.D., presenting balloon accidents from his newly published book, "Balloon Safety Seminars"
- Paul & Johnny Petrehn, National and World Champion balloon pilots (Paul also works for Cameron Balloons) presenting on flight planning and pilot decision making
- Rob Soluren, Jr. - FAA Safety Inspector, Flight Standards Service, Northwest Mountain Region
- Cindy Petrehn, one of the most published balloon photographers within our sport, who is going to present on balloon photography, a seminar that was very well received during the last BFA convention.
- And finally our keynote speaker in honor of the Disney/Pixar movie UP:
John Ninomiya, the most experienced cluster balloonist flying today. He presented back in 2003, but has had dozens of flights since that time. We look forward to and welcome his return to Denver.
We're also pulling together a hands-on presentation on emergency procedures: "How to shut-off the fuel system
on a balloon system that's different from yours." If a fellow pilot had an emergency and you were the first to their basket, would you know how to shut their system off?
We recognize that it's going to be very difficult to top last year's seminar. However, we believe we're off to a great start for next year! Please visit http://www.ltasafetyseminar.org for the latest information and to obtain early registration information. The cost will remain the same this year at $55/pilot and $40/crew up until February 1st, when it then goes to $65/pilot and $45/crew.
We look forward to seeing you at DU on March 13th, 2010!
